نقلا عن مقال بعُنوان ـ( الإسلام دينُ السّلام )ـ , للأستاذ عمر بنُ البسكري, والذي نشرته مجلّة الشّهاب في جُزءها الخامس من المُجلّد الخامس عشر , الصّادر في غرّة جُمادى الأولى 1358هجريّة المُوافق لـ 9 جوان 1939 للميلاد :
<< حالة الأنام قبل شُروق شمس الإسلام بالسّلام : جاء الإسلام ــ والأمم رومانُها وفرسها وعربُها بين ملكيّة تُسيطرُ على الذوات والأشباح وكهنوتيّة تتغلّب على القلوب والأرواح ــ كلّ في خُطّته عابث ببني الإنسان , مُتفنّن في ضُروب الفساد والطّغيان طورا يعمد إلى الإزهاق بعدما ملّ من الإرهاق فتقدّم تلك النّفوس البشريّة بين يدي نجوى مقدّمها ضحايا وقربانا للمعبودين , وطورا تحرق بالنّار بعد ما سئمت من ضروب البوار , حدّا وكفارة على أيدي أولئك الفجّار , كلّ ذلك باسم الدّين . وإذا بالأرواح تحرّرت من قيود خرافها , وإذا بالنّفوس تنفست من خنق سفاسفها , إلاّ أنّ هؤلاء هم الذين حرّروا بعدما استعبدوا وصلحوا بعدما فسدوا وصعدوا في مراقي الرّقي والمدنيّة بعدما انحطّوا في الدّرك الأسفل من الهمجيّة >> .
