نقلا عن مقال بعُنوان ـ( مجالس التّذكير ــ مُلك النّبوّة )ـ , للعلاّمة ابن باديس , والذي نشرته مجلّة الشّهاب في الجُزء الخامس من المُجلّد الخامس عشر , الصّادر في غرّة جُمادى الأولى 1358هجريّة المُوافق لـ 9 جوان 1939 للميلاد :
<< تدقيق لُغويّ وعرض علميّ : سأل سُليمان عن حال نفسه فقال : ما لي لا أرى الهُدهُد ولم يسأل عن حال الهُدهُد فيقل ما للهُدهد لا أراه فأنكر حال نفسه قبل أن يُنكر حال غيره , فنقل الحافظ الإمام ابن العربي عن الإمام عبد الكريم بنُ هوازن القشيري شيخ الصّوفيّة في زمانه قال : ( إنّما قال ما لي لا أرى لأنّه اعتبر حال نفسه ذا علم أنّه أوتي المُلك العظيم وسخّر له الخلق فقد لزمه حقّ الشّكر بإقامة الطّاعة وإدامة العمل فلمّا فقد نعمة الهُدهُد توقع أن يكون قصّر في حقّ الشّكر فلأجله سلبها فجعل يتفقد نفسهُ فقال ما لي وكذلك تفعل شُيوخ الصّوفيّة إذا فقدوا آمالهم , تفقدوا أعمالهم هذا في الآداب فكيف بنا اليوم ونحنُ نُقصّر في الفرائض ) >> .
