نقلا عن مقال بعنوان ـ( مُلك النّبوّة ( 2 ) ــ مجالس التّذكير ــ )ـ للأستاذ العلاّمة عبد الحميد بن باديس , والذي نشرته مجلّة الشّهاب في جُزئها الثالث من المجلّد الخامس عشر , الصّادر في غُرّة ربيع الأوّل 1358 هجريّة الموافق ل 21 أبريل 1939 للميلاد :
<< تمييز قد شارك الحيوان الإنسان في الإدراك والتّمييز وبلغ إدراكه إلى معرفة وُجود خالقه ورازقه ولكنّ الإنسان يمتاز عنه بقوّة التّحليل والتّركيب لكلّ ما يصل إليه حسّه وإدراكه , وتطبيق ذلك على كلّ ما تمتدّ إليه قُدرته ويكون في مُتناول يده فمن ذلك التّركيب والتّحليل والتّطبيق تغلّب على عناصر الطّبيعة وتمكّن من ناصيتها واستعمل حيوانها وجمادها في مصلحته ورقي أطوار التّقدّم في حياته , ولفقد الحيوان غير الإنسان هذه القوّة بقي في طور واحد من حياته ومعيشته فإدراك الحيوان فِطريّ إلهاميّ يُعطاه من أوّل الخلقة والإنسان يُعطى أصل الإدراك الإجمالي ثمّ بتلك القوّة يتّسع أُفُق إدراكه ويستمرّ في درجات التّقدّم وهذه القوّة التي يمتاز بها الإنسان هي العقل , وهي التي ساد بها هذا العالم الفاني >> .
