نقلا عن مقال بعنوان ـ( نُعيمان بن عمرو النجاريّ الأنصاريّ )ـ , والذي نشرته مجلّة الشّهاب في جُزئها الثالث من المجلّد الخامس عشر , الصّادر في غُرّة ربيع الأوّل 1358 هجريّة الموافق ل 21 أبريل 1939 للميلاد :
<< هم خيار الأمّة , وهم أهل الصّدق والجدّ , وذوو القوّة في الحقّ والصّلابة في العقيدة , . . . كانوا أهل سماحة وسُهولة وسجاحة ولين في الحالة الاعتياديّة , حتّى يُنفق بينهم . . . الظُّرف والمزح والدّعابة , فإذا الجدّ فهم هم , فالتزمّتُ والعبوس خُشونة ويبوسة في الخلقة , أو تكلّف ورياء , وحسبك بهما من شرّين , وقد كان النّبيّ صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم يمزح ولا يقول إلاّ حقّا فلا يبلغ المُزاح بكبار النّاس إلى ما بلغ إليه نُعيمان ولكن لا تضيق أخلاقهم بمثله >> .
