نقلا عن مقال بعنوان ـ( العربيّة فضلها على العلم والمدنيّة )ـ ألقاه الأستاذ العلاّمة محمّد البشير الإبراهيمي في أحد الاجتماعات العامّة لجمعيّة العلماء , والذي نشرته مجلّة الشّهاب في جُزئها الأوّل من المجلّد الخامس عشر , الصّادر يوم الثلاثاء غُرّة محرّم 1358 هجريّة الموافق ل 21 فيفري 1939 للميلاد :
<< قامت اللّغة العربية في أقلّ من نصف قرن بترجمة علوم هذه الأمم ونُظمها الاجتماعيّة وآدابها , فوعت الفلسفة بجميع فروعها , والرّياضيات بجميع أصنافها والطّبّ والهندسة والأدب والاجتماع وهذه هي العلوم التي تقوم عليها الحضارة العقليّة في الأمم الغابرة والحاضرة , وهذا هو التّراث العقلي المُشاع الذي لا يزال يأخذه الأخير عن الأوّل وهذا هو الجزء الضّروري في الحياة الذي إمّا أن تنقله إليك فيكون قوّة فيك وإمّا أن تنتقل إليه في لُغة غيرك فتكون قوّة لغيرك , وقد تفطّن أسلافنا لهذه الدّقيقة فنقلوا العلم ولم ينتقلوا إليه >> .
