       نقلا عن مقال بعُنوان : ـ( المسألة الدّينيّة الإسلاميّة الجزائريّة )ـ لأحد الصّحفيين الفرنسيين, والذي نشرته جريدة الصّراط السّويّ في عددها الثالث عشر الصّادر يوم الاثنين 23 شعبان 1352 هجريّة المُوافق لـ 11 ديسمبر 1933 للميلاد :

        << للشّيخ بلاغة وسلاقة وحسن بيان يُمكنه من إقناع سامعيه في أعظم الأدمغة بلاهة , فالجاهلون تعلّموا بواسطته معاني الصّلاة والعبادة الحقة والمعاني السّاميّة المقصودة من كلّ حركة يأتيها المُصلّي في صلاته , إنّ العمل العظيم الذي يقوم بأدائه الشّيخ العقبي قد تملّك قلب العالم في معهده والفلاّح في كوخه فهو الرّجل المسموع الكلمة المُحترم بين مُسلمي القطر الجزائري >> .
