نقلا عن مقال ـ( احتجاج )ـ لأهالي تبسّة , والذي نشرته جريدة الصّراط السّويّ في عددها الخامس الصّادر يوم الاثنين 26 جُمادى الثّانية 1352 للهجرة الموافق ل 16 أكتوبر 1933 للميلاد :

إنّ الغراب وكان يمشي مشية *** فيما مضى من سالف الأحوال

حسد القطاة فرام يمشي مشيها *** فأصابه ضرب من العقال

فأضلّ مشيتها وأخطأ مشيته *** فلذاك كنّوه ( أبا الجهال )
