ـ معنى الطِّيرة :
قال الحافظ في الفتح ( م 10 ـ ص 174) : " أصل التطيّر أنّهم كانوا في الجاهلية يعتمدون على الطّير ، فإذا خرج أحدهم لأمر ؛ فإن رأى الطّير طار يُمنة تيمن به و استمرّ ، وإن رآه طار يُسرة تشاءم به ورجع ، و ربما كان أحدهم يهيج الطير ليطير فيعتمدها ، و ليس في شئ من ذلك ما يقتضي ما اعتقدوه ، و إنما هو تكلّف بتعاطي ما لا أصل له ، إذ لا نُطق للطّير ولا تمييز ، فيُستدلّ بفعله على معنىً فيه ، وطلبُ العلم من غير مظانّه جهل من فاعله ، و قد كان بعض عقلاء الجاهلية يُنكر التطيّر و يتمدّح بتركه ، وكان أكثرهم يتطيّرون ويعتمدون على ذلك ، ويصحّ معهم غالبا لتزيين الشّيطان ذلك ، و بقيت من ذلك بقايا في كثير من المسلمين .." (ص 214ـ215من كتاب الشرك ومظاهره).
